As everyone in the country is receives their A-Level results and hopefully gets entry to the university course they had hoped for, the Ulster Elks HC has officially started back to training to prepare for a tough season ahead.
All are welcome to join in, particularly any new students coming to study at Ulster University in September.
1stXI & 2ndXI – starts Monday 10th August at our Jordanstown Campus and then every Monday and Wednesday thereafter 7-9pm
3rdXI – 5thXI – starts Thursday 20th August, again at Jordanstown and then every Thursday thereafter 7-9pm
Ulster Elks Hockey Academy for 7-14 year olds will start back on Monday 31st August for the U15’s group and Wednesday 2nd Sept for U11, U13 and U15 age groups, both sessions running between 6-7pm.
The Ulster Elks hockey club are currently on the look out for anyone wishing to get involved either as a coach or in a team management role for the 2015/16 season.
The Irish women’s senior squad are now on the final countdown to World League Three in Valencia which is a qualification tournament for the 2016 Olympics in Rio, and two Ulster Elks have been named in the squad of 18.
On Sunday 29th March, the Ulster Elks lifted the coveted Irish Senior Cup for the first time in the club’s history after beating Dublin side Hermes by a solitary goal scored by Aine Curran. Continue reading
As the debate about the looming Irish Hockey League (IHL) continues, both Ulster Hockey Union (UHU) and the Irish Hockey Association (IHA) have sent communications out to clubs across the province.
Ulster Elks duo Shirley McCay and Megan Frazer will be in action for Ireland this month as Dublin plays host to World League 2 as the Irish girls fight it out on the road to the Olympics in Rio 2016.
The Ulster Elks 1stXI could end their season on a high as their final competitive game of the season will be the Irish Senior Cup Final in Dublin.
This weekend (saturday 21st February) the Ulster Elks will play host to Railway Union in the semi-final of the coveted Irish Senior Cup.
The Ulster Elks Women’s Hockey Club has successfully given unique study opportunities to female hockey players from around the world including nationals from New Zealand, France, South Africa, India, Canada, Germany, The United States of America and Ireland. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from players for the 2015/16 season.

The 2014 Irish Intervarsity Hockey Championships kicks off this weekend, hosted by Queens University at Upper Malone.
Ulster Elks will once again be in action in this year’s interprovincial tournament which will take place this weekend at Lisnagarvey HC.
